Camp Staff

STAFF

There are approximately 70 volunteer staff members (including counselors and program staff) for the week of camp. They are required to attend a two-day training program prior to camp, and undergo a thorough application and interview process.  

Camp Sunrise requires fingerprint submission to Ohio BCI& I (Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation) for every staff member.  

Camp Sunrise is proud of the diversity of its staff. Many camp counselors have been involved in Camp Sunrise since the very first year of its existence. They travel from around the United States to participate in camp each year. In 2005, we had volunteers come from ten states, at their own expense. Camp Sunrise has a talented group of unique and compassionate volunteers made up of teachers, lawyers, therapists, business owners, nurses, builders, artists, writers, consultants, designers, students, mothers and fathers.
